Realistic Tattoos (colour/black & grey)

Realistic tattoos are a more modern phenomenon, they come out of the black & grey school of tattooing, using soft shades of grey, amazing images are created in a realistic fashion.  These pieces are highly detailed and use clear skin to be the highlight areas and then working into dark shadows.  Over the past 10 years and the advent of really strong white pigments, we are seeing white pigment used more in black & grey images.  

With the arrival of stronger white pigment, tattoo artists were able to mix this with other colours to create varying tones, which allowed for the creation of much more nuanced hyper real colour tattooing.  Creating amazing colour portraits, flowers, animals etc.  Realistic tattooing is about realism, the recreation of an image.
