Trash Polka

Trash Polka is a very modern style of tattooing started by the Buena Vista Social Club Tattoo Studio, many artists have now adopted this style.  It’s based in black & grey realism but juxtaposed with large black graphic markings.  Typography is also often used and huge red accents to set off the design.  This style pays no attention to other existing tattoos surrounding the design and will often be tattooed over them.  It’s a very single minded and bold approach to tattooing.  Pieces are often large and arresting and have made a huge impact in modern tattoo culture.
