Neo Traditional Japanese

Neo Traditional Japanese is very similar to Neo Traditional Western in that it’s a modern take on traditional tattoo images.  Influenced largely by the youth punk movements in Japan, young tattoo artists who were tattooing Neo Western Traditional work started to re-interpret their own traditional culture in tattooing.  These pieces now are far more colourful, the style is characterized by big bold lines, clear, bright designs but still influenced by the traditional Japanese thinking of complete suits and large pieces.
